Partnering with Managed Encryption to offer a data security solution
MFG’s Managing Director, Mark Flinders was introduced to CMI’s Client Relationship Director, Graham Stead through a mutual connection.
Keeping ahead of the curve, CMI had spotted the opportunity to offer their customers compliance solutions ahead of the General Data Protection Regulation.
MFG’s Managed Encryption complimented CMI’s existing product offering with a ready-made solution to help their customers along the path to GDPR Compliance.

The Challenge
The looming GDPR was driving CMI to expand their business and help their customers implement better data security practices so that they could comply with the new regulations.
IT companies need to recognise that they have a duty of care over their customers –and advising them on new data security trends, regulations and best practices is essential. Setting them apart from others, CMI really understood the implications of data loss and the detrimental effect it could have on their business. Losing customers due to being exposed to a data breach (and the repercussions that follow) was not something that CMI were taking lightly.
Already offering customers a GDPR Readiness Assessment, Cyber Essentials Certification and eDiscovery services; CMI were keen to expand their portfolio to include a value-added product. It was evident that a piece of data security technology to back up their compliance services was required.

With a dedicated account manager and on-tap technical advice from a Senior Encryption Specialist, CMI were pleased to be working with a supplier with a fast and personable service.
Furthermore, MFG’s ‘fully managed’ and easy-to-use solution will be simple for their customers to adopt. After all, data security can be a scary area.


The Solution: MFG Managed Encryption
CMI can now offer their customers a solution where no maintenance or training is required by end-users.
They receive on-going marketing material as well as regular sales and technical training plus support.
After a successful encryption roll-out on some existing customers – following MFG’s Stage 1 Pack, MFG have since assisted with referring some encryption sales leads to CMI (Stage 3). Who we pass new business to is partly based on our partner’s previous performance and CMI have demonstrated good practice when providing a solution to existing customers during Stage 1 and Stage 2.
